Clyde W. Cutrer—A Walk through the Bible in Modern Parables • ISBN: 1-57736-215-2 • $14.95 • 160 pages • softcover • 6 x 9 • Imprint: PHP •

Parables or stories are often included in books and lectures. Stories are the windows that throw light upon the subject. To remember the story is to remember the subject.

A walk through the Bible can be challenging for the lay reader. But if telling modern parables raises the windows from Genesis to Revelation, the walk may be more easily remembered.

The material in this volume is arranged in brief chapters, allowing the reader to become familiar with a single part of the Bible at a time. Old Testament books are arranged in a nontraditional, more chronological order. These short chapters enable the reader to reflect upon the meaning of the part as it engages the reader's life. The purpose is to objectively and briefly sketch the books of the Bible, including their relationship to the whole, to undergird the reader's devotional reflections. Reading a chapter a day, the book may be used as a tool for daily devotions.
